Workshop £140

Throughout the workshop, students will have a chance to improve observational skills, as well as creating more expressive paintings.
Schedule
The workshop will begin with a talk about colour theory. Then, Louis will demonstrate how to match tonal values, blend the colours and create paintings with depth.
Along with class lessons, instruction and critique will be given on an individual basis.
The Workshop
Organising the palette
The palette is organised by arranging it with the warmer colours on the left hand side and the cooler colours on the right of the palette. Each colour is broken down into 3 values by adding white for the middle and light tones which helps to mix the colours with more accuracy.
Grisaille underpainting
We will be working on top of a black and white underpainting pre-printed onto canvas. Don’t worry if your a beginner the drawing is already done. We will learn how to draw on future courses.
Colour mixing and blending
After the introduction we will look at colour mixing and blending, looking at how the colour theory principles work in practice.
